Chocolate custard pie

This recipe is a long, long overdue…

And this time I`m not going to explain myself why, how and so on for the first time I will `shut my mouth`

 

 

 

You will need.

 

 

 

Pie crust

 

150 gr. plain flour

 

pinch of salt

 

55 gr. butter on cubes

 

30 ml. cold water

 

30 gr. sugar

 

 

  

 

Custard

 

150 gr. dark chocolate  70 %

 

30 gr. butter

 

3 egg yolks

 

4 tbsp. brown sugar

 

1 tbsp. flour

 

250 ml. milk

 

vanilla extract

 

 

 

 

Pie crust

 

Put the dry ingredients in a bowl  and rub the butter into them until the mix resembles breadcrumbs.Add the water and work the dough quickly until it binds.

 

Wrap in cling film and chill for 20-30 minutes

 

 

Pre heat oven 160 C.

 

 

 

 

Custard

 

 

In a bowl melt the chocolate with the butter and the sugar.Add the vanilla and whisk in the flour and the milk, than add the eggs and whisk until smooth.

 

 

 

Roll out the pie dough in the dish and pour the custard in.

 

 

Toss in the oven for about 40-45 minutes.

 

Let it cool completely on a rack and then chill in the fridge.

 

 

 

 

This is a really rich pie eat it consciously, I have heard it is perfect after a surf session maybe ski also.
