Plum custard tart

I`m actually ashamed of this recipe, because I do not think much of micro ovens, but this is what I got in the moment and I`m using it.

It has also a grill function imagine this….

No one and nothing can stop me from cooking and this is it …

I need to mention also that I miss my food processor a lot, we have a special bond like a love connection, sounds weird I know but the work it does for me priceless.

Whatever by hand is also doable, but we are spoiled little kids of the high technology.

I bought these days some fresh cherry plums and I`m making a tart.

Today you will need:

14 big plums washed and halved

40 gr. brown sugar

150 ml. milk

1 heaped tbsp flour

vanilla extract

1 egg yolk

3 tbsp. white sugar

Tart crust:

Simple shortcut pastry I have written about it already in previous posts. So make the pastry and leave it in the fridge for now.

In a small pot pour the milk and let it simmer, in the mean time whisk the egg yolk with the flour, vanilla and the white sugar.

When the milk comes to boil whisk in the egg mix energetically , so it does not stick to the bottom. Stir the custard for a minute or so and take off from the heat.

Preheat the oven to 170 C.

Take your pastry from the fridge and roll out. Place it in a dish lined with baking paper. Make some holes on the bottom with a fork.

Bake the crust about 10 minutes and take out.

Divide the custard in two and spread evenly on the bottom of the crust. Arrange the plums over the custard insides facing down. Pour the rest of the custard over and arrange the rest of the plums.

Sprinkle over the brown sugar.

Put in the oven for about 35-40 minutes.

Let it cool completely.

Of course I baked it in a micro oven shame or no shame, obviously when used for proper cooking this gadget is a handy tool.

So for your information baking in a micro oven is possible although I do not approve of it.

So this is it from me and my small camp kitchen.

Take care and Cheers.
